It is a big day:

Good morning all. I am in Chicago about to embark on a big filming day. I am about to leave the hotel and meet my Uncle or our interview. Very excited. Then we are heading to Taft High school for the tribute concert. Will upload some photos later. Take care.

Last weeks shoot:

Hello All! Last week was a crazy week. It was one of those weeks were everything happens all at once and you just have to roll with the punches. With the sequence of events playing themselves out (I wont bore you with the details) I had scheduled a shoot day for the documentary. That is something I really didn't want to cancel. With years of talking to people about the project and to finally have the chance to film with them, canceling was the last thing I wanted to do.

Again, with out going into too much detail, last Wednesday I left at home my injured husband(Tuesday night he got in a moped accident on our street. (nothing broken just pretty banged up)), family visiting from Scotland and the children to head out with crew and learn more about my father. It was worth it.

There were two people I met up with. First I visited with Danny Seraphine. This was a really good one. Very intimate and heartfelt. Danny was open with me and shared a lot about their first bands, the relationship while on tour and how he felt leading up to my Dad's passing. It was very emotional and I thank him for sharing with me.

There was another rare gem he passed on to me. As I don't want to give away everything I find along the journey, I will give a hint. It has to do with music...

Next I visited with my god-father Mario. He started the Rainbow and the Whiskey A Go Go and was good friends with my Dad. Obviously since my Dad made him my God-Father. Mario and his sons run things over there and it is a very close family run business. They allowed the crew and I to invade their space for an hour, which I am truly grateful for. That place is a true piece of music history and helps to tell my Dad's story.

Booking next month's shoot! Stay tuned...

Just some thought....

Hello All.Just posting because I want to keep a nice flow of conversation with the members. I have been working on a one minute teaser for the members lounge. It takes me a while cause of work, family and the fact that I am not an editor. But I am also a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the way I want things to look and sound. Since I am really not a sound engineer you will have to completely forgive the sound. The final touches will be coming this weekend and then I will have to figure out how to upload it here. Another challenge.

Today Dollena and I are having an across the country phone meeting to discuss further fund raising efforts. I am well into filming and working my way to post production. I have put together my shoot list and am scheduling dates with my team.

By the way, do you know how hard it is to be the only person working on producing a documentary? I hope that as the filming gets on and we move toward post production that we will build a production team so that things can move a bit faster.

Anyway. Happy Friday. I am off to nap and get ready for another night of playing music for the club kids.

Shoot Day: Interview time:

This is the team. We meet up this morning for a shoot day and used the trunk of our car as the production office. It was one of those days I have been waiting for for a while.... More details to come.

Preparing for tomorrows interview. There's a lot to think about. Luckily I have an awesome crew so I can let go of all the technical stress and focus on my interviewee.

Lost my way:

I lost my way for a while.  Maybe that is what the end of a year does.  You get consumed with family, deadlines and travel. Then the new year comes and it is time to piece things together in a new light. Well, it is February and I am finally piecing things together. I've spent the past month nurturing my DJ career and hopes to book some fun gigs this year. Now that I handled that piece of business I can dust off my calendars, call up my camera crew (I will introduce you to them later) and began booking dates. Fun! I hope you are all well. I think of you almost everyday because I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that never goes away and wont until I am in post production.

Until next time....

A message from Terry’s daughter Michelle

First I would like to thank all the fans for their support.  I continuously receive letters from fans sharing their Terry Kath experiences with me, whether it was a time they saw him in concert, when they had a chance to meet him or a meaningful moment that his music gave to them.  No matter what the letters says it always ends with a wonderful sentiment about my father. It was important for me to create this website, not only for the fans, but also to display the raw talent and true genius of my dad.  I always felt that he never got the credit he deserved for his contribution to guitar.  His approach to playing and writing music were unique to his own.  I was always saddened by his untimely death, not only because I missed out on knowing him, but also because there was so much more that he had to offer the music world.

The process of collecting stories and content has become a quest to find out more about my father than what I’ve been already been told and what I’ve found on the Internet.  That’s when I realized that I had to make a documentary about him.  Something as simple as making a website has now turned into a film.  I am excited to share my journey with you.  Starting the Terry Kath community was a way for me to bring the fans together and share his memory.  Through the site and the film I hope to reach a new audience of Terry Kath fans and help the community to grow.

Thank you for your support.

Your rock!

From Dollena:

Welcome to the members lounge.  It is because of you that this is even possible.  The money that you have contributed will allow us to keep this website running smoothly,  in addition to contributing to filming “Searching For Terry: Discovering A Guitar Legend”.  We hope to hear your wonderful stories about Terry, and also hope you will go on a journey with us as we finish filming “Searching For Terry: Discovering A Guitar Legend”.  I know that Michelle has wonderful stories to share as we continue to film.  Stay tuned for future announcements and thanks so much for your support!
